The Withrow Family

My name is Denise G. (Bourne) Withrow, I have had horses for over thirty years. Almost all of that time has been spent with Tennessee Walking Horses and Spotted Saddle Horses. I have shown many of those years on the circuit and for 4H but now use most of my time for my family, which loves to camp and trail ride in our free time. I love horses and the horse industry and have met some amazing people over the years while continuing to learn new things each and every day about horses. My love for horses has been passed on to my husband William “Scott” and my two daughters Taylor and Tristen. We raise, break, and train Tennessee Walking Horses and Spotted Saddle Horses. I am a TWHBEA certified riding instructor and a SSHBEA registration inspector and am currently working to obtain my judges license with both organizations. Although we both work full time outside of the home and have two very active daughters we always find time for the horses, which are a very important part of our lives. My husband also does horseshoeing. Right now the only showing we are doing is through 4H with the kids. We mainly break our own horses, however when asked we always try to help out so that someone else can enjoy their horses as much as we do our own. We believe in sound horses and train with all natural methods ensuring a win-win situation for both the horse and the handler. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my parents and grandparents (Jerry and Dottie Bourne and John and Minnie Sasser) for introducing me to horses at an early age and teaching me about a breed that I love so much.

Comment: I have enjoyed working with Michelle’s foals. They are some of the most levelheaded foals I have ever worked with.  They are quick learners that have great confirmation with outstanding bloodlines. They are raised and trained with high expectations using a gentle hand. Michelle and her breeding program is truly an asset to the TWHBEA and SSHBEA.
